The two main kinds of data-
Qualitative Data- Qualitative data consists of extensive responses and also descriptive data. It is useful for studies at an individual level. It tells about the in dept ways people think about a particular product.
Quantitative Data- Quantitative data can be measured numerically and is precise as well as accurate. This types of data can be easily converted in graphs or pie chart etc.
The three types of research-
Market Research - This is a more targeted approach to develop the media product. This type of research focus on whether there are any similar products, how successful the product will be in teh future, what are the features of the product, who they are aimed at, how much revenus they would generate.
Audience Research - The information about the target audience is collected & analyzed. Audience research focuses on :
- Understanding the size of the potential audience with their preferences
- To ensure you indulge in a research which lets you know the lifestyle.
- To ensure products reach the target audience in correct way.
- The use of primary resources.
Production Research - Once the market and the audience has been analyzed the next step is to research on your upcoming product. Production research includes collecting the material that can be used in the product.
