Yash Raj Films was founded by late Yash Chopra. The company has produced many famous films such as 'Gunday','Jab take hai Jaan','Dhoom' and many more. It has grown to be one of the largest film studios in India.

Eros Entertainment Media Ltd is an Indian motion picture production and distribution company, based in Mumbai, India. It has produced films such as '3 idiots','English Vinglish','Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-leela','Bajiroa mastani' and many more.

Reliance Entertainment produces not only films but also games, animation, web series and television series.It has produced films such as 'Singham','A dog's journey',Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. 
Warner Bros.Entertainment Inc. Famous movies such as 'Justice League','Wonder Women','Suicide Squad' and many more are just a few examples of the successful movies they have distributed.

Cliff hanger

I end my opening sequence at the shot when the stalker is standing right behind her and she knows that she isn't alone. This raises questions in the audience's mind about what is going to happen next? Is he going to harm her? How did he enter her house? what will happen to her? It makes the audience want to watch further to know what happens next.
The last shot is a two shot with a dark colour scheme and it ends with a black screen, raising the suspense.

A director who's work I absolutely love

MIKE FLANAGAN

Every film that I have watched that he has directed, I have loved.  There is nothing I do not adore about his work. I have watched Gerald's game, Oculus, Ouija,Hush, Before I wake, I know what you did last summer and his very famous Netflix series 'the hauntings of hill house'. These are all movies and shows I suggest you to watch, especially if you love thriller as much as I do. His work is art. The way he shoots all his movies is brilliant, my favourite work of his has to be Oculus, Gerald's game and the haunting of hill house. 

The haunting of hill house on Netflix is a game changer for horror tv shows, Stephan King called it "nearly perfect" and "close to a work of genius". His style of filming scenes is incredible. It makes me feel as if I am a part of the story, like somewhere there watching it all go down.

In the' Gerald's game', the way he tricks the audience into believing her hallucinations and flashbacks as if they were really happening created an adventure in the film itself.

Oculus with its back and forth flashbacks, what is real and what is influenced by the spirit made the film interesting. To shoot such different aspects of the film and yet not confuse the audience is something he achieved. My favourite scene was when she grabbed the apple and bit into it, only to hear a crackling sound and see blood oozing out of her mouth because she had bitten into a lightbulb instead. It shocked my friends and I to a point of silence but then she realised it was only an apple and the spirit was playing games with her. 

In all his movies I feel there is a sense of symbolism. The endings of all his movies connect to something that was introduced at the start. His movies will always find a way to astonish you in the most unpredictable way with not only his style of shooting but amazing story lines.

A director who inspires me

IMTIAZ ALI

Highway. A movie that is way different than all the other Bollywood movies I obsess over. This movie is a lot bolder than just disregarding class barriers between the two lead characters to construct romance, it the realisation and fight with their inner demons that relates the audience with the characters. As the movie is about a girl that is abducted, one might imagine that to be the real issue but instead she felt safer and happier with her abductor which opened a lot of people's eyes about the problem of society and how even in their own homes, one might not feel safe. It covered a lot of social problems that is needed to be heard and spoken about more often, especially in a country like India where people choose to not talk about it. This movie did exactly that.

Noticing his other movies, whether it is Rockstar or even a comedy film like Jab we met, they all fight the common issue of social pressure. These movies show reality instead of a dream world where real life problems do not exist.

Imtiaz Ali loves to travel and you can see that in his movies. Any director that can portray what makes them happy into their movies well can also share their love for it through that.

'the story of highway is completely about travel. it is about the fascination of travel to an extent that I don't even want to reach the destination'

Mostly his opening sequence's start with the road or anything that is related to travel.

Research methods that I will use

1. Interviews. They help you explain, better understand, and explore the audience's, opinions, behaviour , experiences, phenomenon, etc. Interview questions are usually open-ended questions so that in-depth information will be collected. 
2. Focus group is a form of group interview. Like any other research or evaluation you carry out, their purpose is to gather information. Through listening and observing (and recording) interactions, focus groups can help us to appreciate how people think and feel about an experience, issue or service.
3.Surveys questionnaires can be an effective means of measuring the behaviour, attitudes, preferences, opinions and, intentions of relatively large numbers of subjects more cheaply and quickly than other methods
4. Analysis of other similar genre opening sequences to help compare and get an idea of what it should look like. 

Research methods

The two main kinds of data-

Qualitative Data- Qualitative data consists of extensive responses and also descriptive data. It is useful for studies at an individual level. It tells about the in dept ways people think about a particular product. 

Quantitative Data- Quantitative data can be measured numerically and is precise as well as accurate. This types of data can be easily converted in graphs or pie chart etc.

The three types of research- 

Market Research - This is a more targeted approach to develop the media product. This type of research focus on whether there are any similar products, how successful the product will be in teh future, what are the features of the product, who they are aimed at, how much revenus they would generate. 

Audience Research - The information about the target audience is collected & analyzed. Audience research focuses on :

• Understanding the size of the potential audience with their preferences 
• To ensure you indulge in a research which lets you know the lifestyle.
• To ensure products reach the target audience in correct way.
• The use of primary resources. 

Production Research - Once the market and the audience has been analyzed the next step is to research on your upcoming product. Production research includes collecting the material that can be used in the product.

• It would help use design our media product. 
• It helps to prepare marketing strategies to make the product successful in the market.
• Also to help to identify the competitors. 

There are two types of research methods-

Primary Research- It is called first hand research. It is personally taken up to gain new data.

Secondary Research- It is the second hand data which is obtained from the primary research. The research is based on the material which is already available on the internet, the data books etc.

Types of primary research-

Questionnaires- A series of open and close ended questions tailored together to get a specific information from the audience 

Online Surveys- Questionnaires that the target audience can compete over the internet. These surveys are quick and also many people can fill it as it can be shared to people on a global scale. 

Focus Groups- A group of people assembled to participate in discussion for a product to launched \. This includes people who are particularly interested in the type of genre or a topic.

Interviews- Interviews are used in many talk shows and news channels. This involves verbal and face to face communication. It is a standard part of qualitative data. 

Social Experiment- Social experiment is a social psychology research. A social experiment is a type of research done on fields like psychology or sociology to see how people behave in certain situations. 

Types of secondary research-

Internet research- In this research internet of search engines are used to gather or collect data eg- blogs, forums, websites.

Books and journals- Data can be collected from textbooks, e-journals or books/magazines which are available online or in a shop. 

Magazines & Newspaper- Articles written by professional journalist who use primary research methods for collecting data and then writing about it 

Television- The use of audio visual media which consist documentaries, news, factual tv-series can help provide information.
